CBMC NORTHLAND AREA DIRECTOR – ALAN SMITH
November, 2012
Dear Friend,
Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I always find it amazing to hear stories of God's steadfast love during the most painful trials. Hearing of God's miraculous intervention, presence, and salvation in Mark Whitacre's life during our CBMC Northland conference this past month opened the way for attendees to share their personal experiences. A consistent message emerged as I listened to these individual stories: in every situation, these people were supported by others who joyfully partnered with them through prayer, time, and resources.
One such story is that of George Gipson, Executive Director of R3 Collaborative for Recovery, Reentry, and Renewal and Founder and CEO of Next Step Staffing. George was running from God and on his way to prison when he met a man on death row. During that encounter, God divinely interceded to turn George back to Himself and give him a mission to reach his fellow prisoners for Christ. I encourage you to take a few minutes to read George's story by going to this link .
As I, my wife Clar, and daughters, Gabby and Erin, have transitioned into becoming a missionary family in 2012, I am thankful for you who have generously supported us along the way, sharing your time, wisdom, prayer, and financial support.
During this Thanksgiving and Christmas season, will you take time to reflect on the people God has used to invest sacrificially into your life and the difference it has made? Then, tell those people how much they have blessed you.
Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:20
