Meet our Northland Staff

Alan Smith

Alan Smith is the CBMC Northland Area Executive Director. His first connection with CBMC was in 2009 as a member of a Trusted Advisor Forum, then transitioning to full time CBMC staff starting in 2010. Prior to CBMC, Alan spent 19 years at a Fortune 50 company dealership, Ziegler Caterpillar, was a partner in a small business that focused on employee engagement/ leadership coaching, and was the founding Executive Director at the non-profit, Passionwerx for Life. Alan and his wife Clar have two daughters, one granddaughter and a Black Lab named Bella.

 

 


Don Hoffert

Don Hoffert serves both National and Northland Area CBMC as Director Leadership Institute to grow and develop CEO-Owner Peer Advisory Forums. Don retired from a corporate career in 2007, last as VP of Business Excellence for a fortune 500 company where in Helsinki Finland, he was introduced to CBMC while on international assignment. He is passionate about connecting business leaders (now about 600 nationally) to experience Upreach (intimacy with Christ), Inreach (among Christian business leaders to build a business of excellence) and Outreach (to be the aroma of Christ) to transform families, businesses and communities for the glory of God and mens joy in Christ. Don and his wife Cynthia live in Plymouth, MN and enjoy spending time with their 6 grandchildren. Don also invests time ministering as an elder at Bethlehem Baptist Church.


John Harrison headshot

John Harrison is the National YP Coordinator, working on our YP Initiative team. John has been engaged with CBMC in the Northland area for five years (Praise God!). He has participated in Operation Timothy, Connect 3 Groups, and Young Professional Acceleration Teams. He has been certified as both a Connect 3 Team Leader and Young Professional Team Leader, facilitating multiple groups in the Northland area. He has served on the Northland area Leadership team for two years as well as the Young Professional National Advisory Board. He credits the men of CBMC with providing him with spiritual growth and development that changed the trajectory of his life, both here on earth and for eternity.

The first eight years of his professional career have included business development roles, mergers and acquisition experience, and a focus on operations and process optimization. He most recently served as the Vice President of Operations for EcoXpress—a courier company focused in the LTC pharmacy space.

One of John’s favorite verses is John 10:10—he lives by this every day, knowing that abundant life is only possible through a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

John was born and raised in Fairway, Kansas. He attended Luther College, graduating with a Business degree and a Communications minor, and played four years on the golf team. He and his beautiful wife, Whitney, live in Hopkins, Minnesota, and have been married for three years.


Seth Neistadt Headshot

Seth Neistadt is the CBMC Area Director for Central and Northern Minnesota. He has been a member of CBMC since 2003 and joined the staff in March 2019. He is a Trusted Advisor Facilitator, Certified C3 Coordinator, and a Certified Leadership Coach. Prior to joining CBMC, Seth had been a small business owner for nearly twenty years. He is an experienced Chief Executive Officer with a demonstrated history of working in the internet industry. He's gained over twenty-five years of experience in Entrepreneurship, Product Development, User Experience, Analytics and Management Leadership/Coaching working with companies like Hilton, MGM Resorts International, Best Western, General Motors, and hundreds of smaller companies in the area of digital sales, advertising, marketing messaging, and business development. Seth speaks periodically on entrepreneurship, and faith in the workplace, lives in East Gull Lake, MN. He has been married for 26 years and has three children. Seth also invests time in ministry with his local church, The Journey North Community Church led by Pastor Mark Bjorlo.

Scott Ward has been a small business owner in Southern Minnesota and the Minneapolis area. He has also worked for large corporations and consulting firms. Ever since choosing to follow Christ in high school, he’s been heavily involved in discipleship and mission efforts at the international and local levels. He would say that business ownership perhaps deepened his faith the most. He’s been married for over 35 years, two daughters and sons-in-law and a grandson...and a grand-puppy.

 

 


Tom Whitney

Tom Whitney's role as Northland Area Associate Field Staff allow's him to serve CBMC staff from around the country and in the Northland with his strengths and gifts as a Leadership Coach, Life Coach and past Northland Area Director. Tom's unique combination of experiences and training are allowing God to bear much fruit through Tom. He and his wife Patty are also busy being grandpa and grandma living in Woodbury Minnesota.
