The other day someone texted me an article that documented a handful of the global challenges that exist today. While the Coronavirus is currently getting a lot of attention, pandemic level health threats also include several strains of bird flu, swine flu, and Ebola virus. Throw in earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, fires, and climate emergency and soon a person can feel hopeless.

Now for the good news:

  1. At the macro level, rest assured, God is still on his throne.
  2. On the “right here at home level”- I personally couldn’t be more grateful, excited, and hopeful for what the future holds.

My reason for the hope that I have (1 Peter 3:15) regarding point #2?  Last night was a perfect example of why I feel that way.

John Harrison was traveling this week helping move the CBMC Young Professional initiative forward in some other areas of the country. In his absence, I had the blessing of being able to step in and guest facilitate the Edina Young Professional Team that he normally leads.

Our study time was focused on Attribute #4 from the advance.cbmc.com website - Helping others grow spiritually through life on life discipleship/Operation Timothy. From there we had a dialog about some of the most valuable business lessons I’ve gleaned from CBMC members over the years. Then we finished up the night by giving each other a personal-family-business update from the past few weeks and praying for each.

Northland YP team members, Michael, Ben, and Jadde are just a handful from the current roster of 136 national members of CBMC Young Professional peer advisory groups meeting together to accelerate their personal, business and spiritual life

These young business leaders are on fire for Christ and passionate about meeting/doing life together sharing in each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2) during challenging chapters, life change such as marriage, starting families, and job transitions, and all the while holding each other accountable to stay focused on the prize (Philippians 3:14).

I am so grateful for you, our CBMC community that makes it possible to witness (Isaiah 43:10) life transformation that would not occur any other way if it weren’t for CBMC Trusted Advisors Forums, Young Professional teams, Paul/Timothy mentoring relationships, and targeted events that share the gospel.

Like Crocus popping up through the snow giving us hope that better days are ahead and spring is right around the corner, I have that same kind of hope that our best days are yet to come for CBMC as Jesus is developing a whole new and younger army of Christian businessmen that He will use to draw people nearer to himself.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. I myself am convinced, my brothers and sisters, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with knowledge and competent to instruct one another. ~ Romans 15:13-14

P.S. Our first ever CBMC National Young Professional Conference is coming up April 30-May 2. We are blessed to have a fantastic lineup of speakers and presenters including a special keynote from Tony Dungy.  We expect to have 100 attendees from around the country including a solid group from the Northland area.

National events like this are transformational for those that attend resulting in a much deeper appreciation for CBMC causing men to desire to go deeper with our ministry

Would you prayerfully consider making a special financial contribution that will allow us to make this conference affordable for some young professionals from the Northland to attend?

To make a donation, go to this link and select me as the designation.

We’ll report back to you how God was at work in the lives of the men that attended.

Thank you in advance.
